George Washington's Birthplace
First it should be said this is not the house George Washington was actually born or lived in. The house and the out buildings surrounding it are actually a fair reprentation of a mid to late 18th century plantation. The actual house was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 1779. The foundation can still be seen. The house and the other colonial building were actually recreated in the 1930s and give a visitor a good essence of what it was like at the time our nations father was born.
