Scotchtown - Built: 1720

Scotchtown is the home of the great patriot and orator, Patrick Henry. It is here that he formulated the ideas of his famous "Liberty or Death" speech. Owned and maintained by Preservation Virginia since 1958, the house has been restored to the appearance during which Patrick Henry lived there (1771-1778). The house is architecturally unique and is surrounded by reproduction outbuildings and gardens.
